Lily

In the vast valley, amongst the high mountains
In a foreign land across the sea
Where grass waves with the wind
God planted a seed for me
Daily He waters the delicate seed
She slowly develops within the earth
Soon He will allow her soil to become dry
And uproot her and send her across the sea to me
Here I wait to plant her roots in my soil
To water her in my own fields
With my apricot blossom she will grow
I will watch her grow and flower
Waiting, I pray for my precious lily blossom

so i have been thinking about poetry a lot lately so i went into my poems and read them over again. did you know, i have writen over 80 poems. that gets me too.

here are a few that i like and thought i would share again on my blog,

FADING
To wither away
Under the moon’s strong light
Slowly eroding
Until no longer in sight

Color dissolving
Beneath the dark sky’s gloom
Flowers wilting
Before the old man’s tomb

THE DEFEATED
She is a disappearing body
Withering away with the wind
Swooped into the spell of society
She’s falling further behind

Caught in the world’s tribulations
Feeling the hindrance of life
In the hold of hazardous emotions
Only bringing more strife

A hand reaches out
She shyly pulls away
Yet He still waits for her grasp
Patiently waiting for her to pray

His arms hold securely
Cradling her like His own child
Comforting in all His glory
He looked at her mistakes and smiled

I was bored between classes...

just an average day

so here i am, living out another friday morning sitting in mccaskil hall waiting for my lit class. jon doesnt have phisics today because his teacher is sick. we were going to hang out for the first time during school (this semester) today but as i went into the math lab where he tutors during the day he said he had to help some people out with diff. equations. thats cool, i guess; we can hang out after classes today. maybe we will play some lego star wars together :) but anyways, after lit today i have a two hour break until my english class, i dont have chem on fridays, thank God. i think i'm ganna walk the few blocks back to ross hall and hang out there until my last class.

other than being really excited that it is friday, not too much is happenin as you can see. it's just another friday morning. ok... i am ready for the semester to be over. I want to get out of this state (wisconsin, still got that grudge). my heart is longing for colorado (ok, maybe not longing but i am prety darn excited to get out there) I am so ready to start my actuall major and be hangin around the beautiful mountains! only 150 some odd days until jon and i move, and joe and rachel too. alright, enough time waisted writing, i should maybe get some reading done for monday so i dont have to do it this weekend. peace

mama should be proud

this comic is the one i made for tomorrows paper. it totally fits all the snow we had this last weekend. also, some kids cars looked just like this!

mom sould be proud: I made good banana bread. i've been kinda a baker lately, i have made jon's b-day cake, banana bread, and bars. i do have to say, all were prety good. also, i attempted grandma-v's frosting recipe. the frosting didnt turn out as good as hers, but it was still prety good. other than that i got a b+ on my first paper for english. that is to be proud of, the proff. is a good poet and the head of the english department. ok, so i am proud of it, especially because it is only the first essay and we get to do revisions on it for a second grade.

today i had two tests: chem and sociology. i will have to wait and see what i get on those, i dont even know what to guess for the soc one. for the chem i should at least get an a. it was prety easy stuff since it is a lower level class than i have already taken. now its time to do my truck-load of reading for the week, start some other stuff, and hopefully have game night with zach and jaimie tonight.

another snow day

today was another snow day! zach and jaimie came over last night and we partied on with movies and popcorn. today we had breakfast burritoes and played some games and now they have left. it was a good time. the days already feel long and its as if the weekend will never end. craziness. i have no idea what jon and i are going to do tonight or the rest of the weekend. spirit mountain is closed because of the blizzard warning until 6 o'clock tonight. that means no skiing on the fresh powder. (hey did i tell you i had the time of my life skiing a few weekends ago. i got a massive bruise on my knee; it was awesome! i had a smile on my face the whole time.) and here comes the boredness... unless we could get some sleds or something.

so today, a very great day; is a snow day! yep, i am not lying. this is one of the first snow days that UWS has had in over at least 8 years. i guess we have gotten a new provost from one of the southern states and it is blizzard like conditions here so he gave us the day off. hopefully we will get tomorrow off also; that would make things so great!

so life has been going well. classes arent too bad, i'm kinda getting sick of them: it is the sixth week of classes. midterms are right around the corner and that is always good. only 14 days left until spring break. also, jon and i have been married two months now. oh boy do i love him! what else... we are going to go play some games now, later
